What is the Journey of Dreams?

As a Planetree Continuing Care community, Wesley Village recognizes that, regardless of age or physical limitations, residents still have wishes and dreams. For the last two years, the Journey of Dreams program has brought that community together to turn those dreams into reality.

In every situation, it starts with a wish and sometimes a seemingly impossible dream. It comes together with the help of connections, creativity, some good luck, and a generous dose of teamwork.

Most recently, Crosby Commons resident Angie Karlon had her moment in the spotlight, just as she had wished. The 101-year old had always wanted to be on television. Residents and staff braved the 20-degree temperatures waiting to report the weather live on Channel 8 and join Angie while she lived her dream. What, the interviewer asked, is her secret to staying so young? “Common sense living,” she replied, to appreciative chuckles from all gathered.

Wesley Heights at Wesley Village renovations

Thank you to our donors for contributing to The Campaign for Wesley Heights.
As part of a $10 million renovation project on our HUD assisted living
community in Shelton, Connecticut, the sunroom and activity room, the dining
room, and 24 of 90 apartments are now complete. In the coming months, a new
entrance and lobby will be built, and the remaining 66 apartments will be
renovated. Your gifts have helped make the next chapter possible for Wesley
Heights!
