Bishop Wicke Health Center Renovation!

In keeping with the UMH value of “Excellence; improving quality by empowering our associates to continually improve our outcomes of service, encouraging innovation by seeking, listening, and responding to new ideas”, our Bishop Wicke Health Center is embarking on a $1 million renovation project!

The planning process for this project was unique, involving feedback from residents, families, and staff from various departments and shifts. Work is slated to begin in February and be completed by early summer. Our short-term rehab patients and long-term residents are excited to see the changes to their living environment. Not only will there be new paint, flooring, and ceiling lighting upgrades; our traditional nursing stations will be taken down and a new area built which will provide a much more residential feel and encourage even better communication between residents, their families, and staff. Public spaces will be designed to be warm, inviting, and healing. The project is broken down into four phases to minimize any disruption felt by our residents as they continue to enjoy living their lives in our community. An exterior paving project is also part of the plan.

We are so thankful for the generosity of our donors and their ongoing support of the high caliber of services provided by UMH communities. In part, we are able to pursue improvements to our award-winning communities like Bishop Wicke because of them.
