We were thrilled to be able to honor two of our outstanding UMH caregivers at the 2nd Annual Caring Hands Award Luncheon presented by Leading Age CT on Monday, April 8th at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington. The event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and recognize some of the many special people who work in senior care. Cheers to our team members Claudine Thermidor, a CNA at Bishop Wicke, and Tishana Myers, a CNA at our Middlewoods of Newington Community on receiving this award! See below to read more about Claudine and Tishana…
Claudine Thermidor
Claudine is a full time, 3-11pm CNA and has worked at our Bishop Wicke skilled nursing care community since 2014. Her understanding of our mission and values is an inspiration to all. Claudine is a quiet leader, caring for the most compromised residents with dignity and understanding. Her professionalism is obvious to her co-workers, the interdisciplinary team, and most importantly, to our residents and their families.
Recently, a resident on her consistent assignment passed away on her shift. Claudine was visibly upset. The residents’ daughter sought her out in order to personally console and thank her for her compassion and care of her mom. This is only one example of the many ways Claudine’s spirit of caring has influenced our community.
Tishana Myers
Tishana Myers has been working as a CNA at Middlewoods of Newington for the past two years. She has been a wonderful addition to the community since she started, bringing her warm smile and caring nature to share with staff and residents alike. She primarily works the evening shift with occasional overnight shifts, and is a full-time nursing student during the day, driven and dedicated to advancing her career.
Tishana is a hardworking, responsible young lady who always has a smile on her face from the time she walks in the door. She’s dependable, always kind, pleasant, and respectful to residents, families and peers. She knows all of the residents, can anticipate their needs, and personalizes her interactions; knowing what they may need without them even needing to ask for it. Tishana provides a sense of calmness, caring, security, and comfort to every resident. She also knows how to make them laugh, and has a great sense of humor that she willingly shares with others. Our team feels very lucky and extremely proud to work alongside Tishana.
Claudine and Tishana - we applaud your commitment to our mission and values and are so thankful to have people like YOU to continue United Methodist Homes’ 140-year legacy of caring. Congratulations!
