Farmington, CT (Monday, October 17th) Linda Midwinter, an employee at Middlewoods of Farmington Independent and Assisted Living Community, was recently recognized by United Methodist Homes (UMH) as a winner of the organization’s annual Values in Action Award. The award, presented at UMH’s annual Employee Recognition Celebration dinner on September 29th, is given in recognition of employees who have demonstrated extraordinary behavior that exemplifies the organization’s core values of Respect, Spirituality, Excellence, Collaboration, and Stewardship. All employees are eligible to be nominated and to nominate any of their team members who demonstrate these core values. One individual from each of United Methodist Homes’ communities is chosen to receive the award and Linda, a 15-year employee and a nurse in the wellness department at Middlewoods of Farmington, was chosen to receive this year’s award. She was recognized with a monetary award and a trophy and praised by her supervisor, Executive Director, Katie Mauriello, for her outstanding character and service.
Linda was nominated for the award for the caring attention she gives to residents, their families, and staff. Understanding the importance of faith and spirituality, Linda not only cares for the daily needs of body and mind, but she also takes great care to make sure the spiritual needs of the community are being met. Her weekly prayer group, attended by over thirty-five residents and staff, and her support group, the “Sunshine Club” works hard to provide empathy, acts of thoughtfulness, and encouragement to the entire community. Her contributions to the team make Middlewoods of Farmington a special place to live and work. Congratulations, Linda!
