Farmington, CT (July 25, 2016) - Staff and residents danced the night away at Middlewoods of Farmington’s recent Senior Prom, a gala event organized this past June at the assisted living community. Enjoying the songs that were played during their own senior prom many years ago, residents reminisced about their younger years, reliving wonderful memories of times past. Middlewoods resident, Cal Kaiser, enjoyed the event immensely. “It sure felt good to shed 75 years and dance to the music of those great orchestras from the 1940s and 50s,” Kaiser shared. “It was refreshing to see so many ladies all dolled up with their formal dresses. Everyone had a marvelous time!”
Both staff and residents dressed for the occasion in ball gowns and jewels, sparkles and suits, ties, feather boas, heels and all things fancy. They exchanged flowers, posed for photos, swapped dance partners, and shared stories. The Senior Prom was organized by Activities Coordinator, Joan Jakiela; Chef Manager, Loretta Ward and the entire Middlewoods team. “It was an amazing event,” said Ginny Brown, Community Relations Director. “Watching our residents get dressed up and sharing a special occasion with them like this was memorable for all of us.”
