#UMatterHere Kindness Campaign

wesley village | Crosby Commons | Middlewoods of Farmington | Middlewoods of Newington | lifestyle transitions

We recently rolled out a Random Acts of Kindness Campaign in our UMH communities and have been receiving lots of great feedback on how these simple acts of kindness are making a big difference.

A Random Acts of Kindness Calendar was posted for each of our communities with a month’s worth of ideas for our team members to cultivate kindness. Kindness ideas were customized for our communities and involved simple gestures, such as offering to help complete a project for a co-worker, writing a note to a resident who inspires you, leaving a sticky note with a positive message on the bathroom mirror, or offering to make a cup of coffee or tea for a family member who is visiting. Responses to these small acts of kindness encouraged our team members to think about each other just a little bit more. We believe that it’s important for our team members to show their co-workers that they care about each other and this campaign gave us the opportunity to cultivate that spirit of caring and strengthen our culture.

Along with our kindness calendar, we also offered team activities to our Executive Directors and invited our staff to join us in the Kindness Rocks project. We collected dozens of thoughtful rocks creatively written by members of our team, which will be shared and distributed in a variety of ways across campus and the local community this spring.
