7 Reasons Middlewoods of Farmington is the Right  Senior Living Community for You!

Aging & Caregiving

farmington senior living communityTucked away behind the UCONN Health Center is one of the most award-winning independent and assisted living communities in Connecticut; a place where residents live life to the fullest, where residents’ families and friends are welcomed, and where residents and families become members of the Middlewoods of Farmington family. This unique community is also a place where staff come to work knowing they are encouraged to build relationships with residents in order to provide better care and find joy in their work.

It is intentional that we use the phrase “Caring Relationships, Enriching Lives”. Being part of United Methodist Homes means that how we care for our residents is driven by our Mission. Our focus on relationship-centered care is at the heart of all that we do.

Of the many, many reasons to celebrate the last eighteen years of caring and enriching lives at this community, here are just a few of our favorites.....

7 Reasons Middlewoods of Farmington is the Perfect Senior Living Community

1. Affiliation with the UCONN Health Center

Our relationship with the UCONN Health Center, a nationally known teaching hospital, provides easy access to medical care. We offer an on-site Geriatric Clinic for our residents so they don’t even have to leave the building to see their doctor. Our Medical Director is a regular at the community and helps to educate residents on health and wellness issues.

2. Health and Wellness

Compassionate, respectful and professional care is provided by our Wellness Department. Whether it is regularly scheduled or a-la-carte personal care services, our certified nursing assistants and registered nurses provide a caring touch.

3. “It Feels Like Home.”

Enjoy a comfortable, meticulously maintained home-like environment designed to meet your needs. In addition to their apartment, residents utilize our living room, sun room, country kitchen, tea room and private dining room for visits with family and friends.

4. Spirituality

Opportunities abound to explore spirituality through prayer groups, meditation, church services and a rosary group. Volunteers from many different faith communities, along with our United Methodist Homes chaplain, and even our staff, make themselves available to meet with residents individually and/or in groups to help meet their spiritual needs.

5. Fitness Opportunities

Fitness opportunities include a variety of fun daily exercise classes, a membership at the local YMCA where our residents can utilize all of the amenities including the swimming pool, and regular walking groups in and around the community as well as at special destinations.

6. Meals to Warm the Heart

Three delicious and nutritious meals are lovingly planned and prepared by our Executive Chef, a longtime member of our Middlewoods staff, and our award-winning dining services team. Residents are actively involved in a Food Committee and we look to them for input and feedback.

7. Lifestyle

Middlewoods of Farmington was the first ever community in the country to offer “Resident Retreats” as a way to build community, improve customer satisfaction and sensitize our residents to the aging process so they could have a better understanding of what their peers with limitations may be experiencing.

Those are just a few of the many reasons Middlewoods of Farmington could be the perfect senior living community for you or your loved one. Download our ebook to learn more about what makes this community so special!
